What is MCP server?

An MCP server is a process that exposes tools and resources to AI assistants over the Model Context Protocol. ArgusTest's MCP server runs locally on macOS and surfaces iOS device capabilities — screenshots, log streams, crash reports, device status — as callable tools for Claude Code, Cursor, and other MCP clients.

MCP servers communicate with the assistant (the "client") over a transport such as stdio. You register the server once in your assistant's configuration; from then on its tools are available in every conversation.

ArgusTest's server is configuration-driven and app-agnostic — it monitors any connected device without per-app setup.
